Spring time is Market time: Curb Appeal is #1!
Everybody knows that as soon as the tulips pop up in West Michigan, houses start going on the market. But what most potential sellers don't know is what their house should "look" like to be ready for the buyers that will soon walk through their front door. So I feel the best place to start...is the front door! Each and every time I help a homeowner prepare their house for the market, it comes down to the most important thing: PICTURE DAY! Gone are the days of driving around looking for signs in yards. Today buyers are shopping at home in their pajamas on the internet scrolling through photos and listings. If your home doesn't sparkle on the internet, then you will struggle getting those potential buyers through your front door! So hang tight as I break down the most important areas to focus on BEFORE you list your house. First and foremost, curb appeal! This is not just a tv show, it is a true reality. After your home has been discovered online, a drive-by is surely going to happen! When those cars swing by, the passengers need to see a freshly power-washed exterior, clean gutters, fresh mulch and a well-groomed yard free of toys, yard art and junk. Easy peasy lemon squeezy! But let's dig a little deeper... Do you have peeling paint around the windows and doors? A dirty or green pool? Outdated porch lights? Dead plants or overgrown shrubs? These items take a little more effort, but they should not be ignored!
